Hmm, haven’t I seen that before?

The Spirit of EcstasyWhen we were doing Art Deco era visual research for Elizabeth Boyd’s brand identity we came across this rare, original, casting of Charles Sykes’ “Spirit of Ecstasy.” Also known as the “Flying Lady,” you probably know her best as the mascot for Rolls Royce automobiles. Not that I’ll ever own or even drive a Rolls, but their commitment to quality and legend is admirable, as symbolized by the iconic statue they’ve built their brand on.

Now that’s what I’m talking about when I mention “brand story.”

Can’t believe I found this website. I just inherited a Statue like you are showing. The name is hand carved by Charles Sykes and the No. 28. That tells me there must be at least 27 before mine. I can’t find out what it must be worth. She is 23″ high and 12″ wide. I had someone tell me they were made for the showrooms but I’m not real sure.
    Hope you can help.
    Many thanks,
    Jeannie

Jeannie, thanks for the comment. It’s a beautiful piece. I really don’t know how much it’s worth, but I would look into it if I were you. You’re fortunate to own one of these rare works of art!
